Doug Wilson writes on Atheism in Canada's National Post
Many thanks to Clint Humfrey who points out this wonderful article in the National Post in response to an article by Chris Hitchens about his own private stock of atheism.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are coming to the Royal Ontario Museum this June! I can’t wait to actually see these live (dead?) in person.

I have been busy as of late due to ministerial and life pressures but I also have three manuscripts to go through for review purposes. They’ve been sitting on my desk for far too long, staring me down every time I settle down to other work. I’m determined to finish this task within the next month. The good part is that they’re Canon Press books which pretty much guarantees a great read. The even better news is that they’re written by Douglas Wilson. So this will be less like work and more like fun. Why the deadline, you may be asking. Well, I’m headed to the CREC Pastor’s conference in Houston in October where I hope to meet the author and the great people I’ve only read about and who support the ministry at Canon Press.

As a church Holy Word is quite unusual in that we provide a lunch after every service. Though we have an English and a Chinese Congregation with separate services we come together after it’s all done and fellowship around a common meal. Eating together in any church but especially in an “ethnic” church is an important part of fellowship. The willingness to eat anything that’s put in front of you not only endears you to the cook but also to the ethnicity of that cook. They see you as willing to accept them in a way that transcends any language barrier. There is evidence throughout the New Testament that the early church of Christ congregated together to worship and to dine together. The second coming of Christ is highlighted with a wedding feast and as much as some commentators may try to convince me that it’s metaphorical I have yet to be convinced that it’s nothing less than an actual banquet.
It has been my recent delight to see one of our newest baptized members enjoying his meal time with his fellow Christians. To our surprise the “White guy” has been eating every Chinese dish we’ve put in front of him (even the “thousand year old eggs”)! I am amazed how a little adventurous eating has opened doors to fellowship and closeness with the other guys at church. Great job Lukas! Eat on young man, eat on.

For those of you who need to nap just about anywhere here’s the vertical bed. Reminds me of the time I drove my wife’s cousin to the airport at 6 AM. While I was asking an airport attendant about his flight he fell asleep while standing! I had to drag his luggage AND his sleeping behind through two terminals finally throwing him into the arms of a flight attendant at his gate.
As for the vertical bed i believe a church model which makes it look as if you’re reading the Bible intently is on it’s way. Just imagine, no more stacking hymn books to prop your head.

Doug Wilson has been having a tough time keeping deformed reformers from twisting scripture all over this Sarah Palin and leadership issue. Enjoy this post.
